The Nachtigal Project is developed by Nachtigal Hydro Power Company (NHPC), a company created in July 2016, whose shareholders are: the State of Cameroon, Electricité de France, la Société Financière Internationale, Africa50 et STOA

State of Cameroon (15%) – Key institutional partner in the promotion of investment and the implementation of public-private partnerships.

Electricité de France (EDF) (40%) – World leader in low-carbon energies and expert in nuclear, hydraulic, thermal and renewable energy production.

International Finance Corporation (IFC) (20%) – Financial institution member of the World Bank group, and largest development institution in charge of the private sector.

AFRICA50 (15%) – Independent African investment fund geared towards high impact national and regional projects, particularly in the fields of energy and transport.

STOA (10%) – French investment fund specialized in infrastructure and energy in emerging and developing countries.

Nachtigal Hydro Power Company (NHPC) owns exclusive rights to develop the project, as agreed on by the State of Cameroon since July 10, 2014. The company’s ambition is to comply with international best practices in environmental and social matters, hydraulic safety, and construction.
